I like the non-representational shapes used in these fabrics because of the fun, whimsical feel they create.
I made this over the summer and I really love the shapes and lines the melted crayons formed because I think that non-representational shapes allow each person to interpret them differently, creating a piece that can appeal to many different people and elicit unlimited responses.
This photo of a T-shirt design definitely has a more edgy feel and the non-representational shapes and lines within the skull produce a strange affect and make the viewer wonder what the artist is trying to portray.
